A promising start to the 2013 rally season [India] kicked off here on the outskirts of the metropolitan city of Chennai, India. Sriperumbudur is & was the motorsport hub for South Indians & even to most of the country-men/women, from past few decades. Chief event sponsor being AVT Group, the season opening South India Rally was prefixed with its chief sponsor to be called AVT Premium South India Rally.
The rally headquartered at the Madras MotorSport Club race track, near Sriperumbudur hosted the event in style. Service area were basically the racing pits and were much more prettier - less hassles both to the organisers and the competing teams / crews. The Rally HQ was established on Thursday 21st for clearing the documentation till 22nd when the recce and pre-event scrutiny for the rally cars & crew-safety-gears. Being a two day rally, starting from Saturday - 23rd March with 7 stages and finishing on the second day 24th March 2013 with 4 more stages to conclude the rally.
