Next four days of the Welsh forests roads are probably the most celebrated forests in the world, as the 10th round of WRC season's rally is going live popularly known to the rest of the world as Wales Rally GB. Rally GB is not new nor unknown to the motorsports community as it is one of the old and most anticipated round year after year, without any loss of interest. History dates to the beginning of the formation of the WRC we know today, as back then it was all different.
Coming to the competition heat of this season, Sebastien Loeb is still the leader, as it was in the last season (with the minor difference that the rally was a closing event of the season, but now its somewhere in the course). Mikko Hirvonen has found the pace in his new team's Citroen DS3 WRC and is pretty confident, but way adrift the championship leader. Petter Solberg is not in a very good third position, as he is chased by bad lucks and now his compatriot Mads Ostberg, with just 2 points down. Comparitively to last season's rally, this year the drivers are shuffled across the opposites of the cars and even the teams. But the most important factor, the Loeb factor is having its same scenario and is going strength to strength. He is really a matured driver, (no doubt) and has a class of his own, either on gravel or tarmac. However, we cannot rule out the competition he has faced with his current team-mate and the other Finnish Ford driver, Latvala who won the last year's event, after Loeb had an accident and damaged his DS3 WRC in the transport section with a spectator's car.For those who are going to attend the event personally, and want more info can be available at the event's site here.
This year's rally is relatively low on the turn out on the entry, but it never stops to entertain its fans. A very good video from the last season for you people exclusively :-)
